Found a bass guitar, is this a decent price?
Went to a pawn shop to sell something and found an Epiphone bass for only $60. is this a steal? or is the guitar likely a piece of junk?

If you're not sure of what to look for, bring a bass player who knows and have him or her check it out. Be sure to plug it in to an amp to see if the electronics are working properly. If everything appears to be decent, offer them half the asking price and negotiate back and forth from there. Pawn shops never expect to sell stuff for what the price tag says. If you can get it cheap then you won't mind trashing it or giving it away when you are ready for something better.
