Sony TV (LCD) or Panasonic TV (Plasma)?
I've been doing a lot of research online on which TV I should get for my bedroom, I originally decided Sony... cause it goes well with my PS3 which is from Sony, but I was reading the Customer Reviews and some people had problems with getting Sony TV's that were broken from the start and saying that Sony has the worst customer service and that if your TV breaks past Warrenty... you have to pay $250 to get it fixed or get a refurbished one... I hate using already used items, especially if they were broken before... so that's a no no to me, so is $250 dollars, very picky, lol. Other problems include the TV going black and white, green, lines through the TV, which happened with my last TV. (Also, I have a problem with the ugly grey bar at the bottom of Sony TV's. All my friends tell me to get over it, not a big deal, so I will, haha.) I was also reading that a lot of people have problems with Sound Quality and hearing the TV all the way turned up with a small fan going in the room. I need sound cause I live with a house hold that pounds their music. If I go with Sony, I plan to get speakers. So I was reading further and some people recommend Panasonic and I did not find one bad customer review. So I was like... I should go with Panasonic... Then I hear that Plasma TV's have a problem with Burn-In's happening... where the picture of the show or movie burns on to your screen if left on for a while... well, I do watch a lot of TV, so I do plan to leave my TV on for long periods of time... My last TV I left on all the time even when leaving the house... So I want a TV that can last when left on for more than 24 hours at a time... but I hear that the new Plasma TV's have fixed this Burn-In problem... but random people on forums still think you shouldn't leave your TV on for more than 10 hours cause they don't trust it. So looks like both TV's might have problems... so either way I decided to get a Protection Plan... but still am trying to decide what TV to get. I ask friends and alot are saying either or... not very helpful. Some other things I have been reading up on are that LCD's are better for games or hooking it up to your computer and that Plasma's are better in dark rooms and have a crystal clear picture. Well, I got the PS3 to play games but to also watch Netflix movies on... so yet again... I still don't know what to choose? Plus my room is dark probably 90% of the time. Also... after I do decide... Should I go with Walmart or Best Buy to buy it? Mainly aiming for protection plan. $54.99 for the Best Buy 2 year Protection Plan. $44.33 for the Walmart 3 year Protection Plan... and $79.99 for the Best Buy 4 year Protection Plan. I hear that Sony TV's have been giving out mostly after 1 or 2 years... so I want to make sure it at least lasts 3 years... Both Protection Plan's sound the same but put in different ways... but Best Buy mentions something about Burn-In and Pixel Coverage... so if I did get a Plasma and it did the Burn-In thing... I'd be covered... I wonder if Walmart does the same but had it worded differently. Would be nice. Anyways... Should I get Sony (LCD) or Panasonic (Plasma)?

Go with a Plasma
best black levels as plasma doesn't require a backlight like LCD
vibrant colors
no motion blur the refresh rate on a plasma is 600Hz
also LED tvs are LCDs they are just LED back lit LCDs

1 ) Sony manufactures great LCD / LED TV , is also reliable products proven worldwide .
however , any electronics items can make " problems " any time any moment. Sony TV too. there must be Sony TV getting " trouble ' in 1 year oe even new unit . there must be some once unhappy with Sony TV or Sony after services, many unforeseen reason with very personal touch.
in general, Sony TV failure rate according to factory target as less than 3.5 % , normally Sony TV " return " rate is less than 5 %. 90 % of Sony TV able to use up to 6 years with out repair. 6 % of Sony TV need repair between 3-4 year/ less than 3 % getting trouble in 1 year.
LCD VS Plasma.
LCD TV with motion blur , not really good for sports-movies.game any fast action moving image.
motion blur cannot be total " cut it off ", due to response time from 2ms to 8 ms depends of models / maker. 120 HZ refresh rate even 240 HZ is " hide-away " the motion blur to make our eye comfortable.
LCD TV unable to display pure dark / black colour.
only quality LED TV ( LCD -LED back light ) provide nice great colour and well cover the motion blur .but quality brand LED TV cost much more in $. those house brand " cheap " LED TV will not reaches real LED TV performance.
Plasma TV excellence in colour display , smooth pictures with out motion blur. due to 0.01 response time 600 HZ refresh rate. ( LCD 4ms to 8 ms response time 120 HZ refresh rate )
you never get an LCD TV reached Plasma performance. even high end high prices models.
only quality LED TV very closed to Plasma performance.
Panasonic new Plasma technology with out burn in issue , even long hour for still image / game , switch on over night - no problems, because Panasonic Plasma with anti burn in electronics designs to prevent burn in . life time 60,000 hour. lower power consumptions.
keep in mind , only Panasonic use new Plasma technology . no other able to " copy '. as mose of the designs are PATENTS by Pioneer-Panasonic.

believe me, Panasonic Plasma long life / reliable. with out burn in .
Sony LCD TV is great but compare to Panasonic new Plasma is OUT !
