How far can you see across the sea?
In Ireland, you can see Scotland, which is 12km away. In England, they can see France which is 35km away. I was wondering if you could see the Isle of Man from Ireland.

The horizon is about 3 miles away for someone about 6 feet tall standing at sea level.
The distance is greater if the observer or object (or both) are high above the sea.
See attached table and calculator

It depends on how high you are and how tall the objects are that you are looking at. At ground level to ground level due to the curvature of the Earth, you can see about 3 miles.
Of course if you are Tina Fey, you can see Russia from your house.

It depends on how tall you are. As well as how tall the object you are measuring is. Draw a circle and look at it. Six miles comes to mind from my youth.

Beyond a few kilometers from the land under the see, all sea are free zones and anybody can tour and see the beauty of sea provided your ship can move without obstruction by objects floating or immersed in sea.
