I just got a Diana f+ and was wondering if there are any tips for beginners.

The best tip I can give you is to never be expecting to get a full roll of "good" shots, no matter how long you use it. Real cameras, (and you do realize the Diana is a TOY camera don't you), have adjustable shutter speeds and apertures and light meters to obtain correct exposures. The Diana and Holga type of cameras have one mechanical shutter speed and aperture, and that will NOT give you correct exposure in all lighting conditions. Just so you know that right from the start.

Use any C41 process film, ISO 400 is about the best all around speed range. Remember if doing double or multiple exposures on one frame that you are exposing the film for twice or more the normal time. This can be useful in dim lighting conditions to "build up" the exposure on the film that would otherwise be underexposed with just one shot.

I just bought a Holga myself recently. Its very simple, easy, light, and fun to use. I'm beginning to like it more than my DSLR and that's saying a lot!
