making chip dip but not sure how much cheese and salsa I need? and recipes?

I'm making velveeta cheese, salsa, and hamburger. My mom makes the absolute best but I can't seem to get a hold of her. So just wondering for anyone who might make this same thing how much do you use? I'm needing enough to feed at least 10 people. I plan on using 1.5 lbs of hamburger.

I just kind of eyeball it when I make it. I take a hunk of velveeta and add some salsa and microwave, stir. I'd just do that until you've got a big bowl full.

However, this one recipe calls for a one pound package of Velveeta and one cup of salsa. So, again, I'd just eyeball it using this recipe http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/velveeta-salsa... for reference.

    One large box Velveeta

    1 small mexican Velveeta

    1 can chopped green chili's

3 cans rotel ( i like the med to hot)

and your browned hamburger meat cooked then drained of grease on paper towels.add all ingredients and cook on low heat stirring often till heated through. This is enough for 10 to 15 people. Make it every yr for family get together. We don't usually add hamburger we add breakfast sausage..u should try it sometime..I also have a friend who adds half hamburger and half breakfast sausage..

I use the big box of Velveeta with one can of Rotel tomatoes and about 1 1/2 pound of ground meat. This makes plenty for 10 people. Brown your ground beef and remove all the grease. Melt your velveeta, keep stirring as not to scorch the bottom. Then add your Rotel and heat in with the cheese and add the meat and mix well. I keep mine in a crock pot on warm.
