if your going to breastfed to id go with a NUK brand bottle/nipple
if you just going to bottle feed, id use any bottle that will hold a Dr browns newborn slowflow... do bother with the dr browns bottles, they are expensive and just the same as the BPA free parents choise bottles you can get at walmart 3 for 3.15 package, then save those nipples that come on the Chose bottles or when hes older

Avent bottles with level 1 nipples are great for newborns. As baby gets older you can use the same bottles but just buy higher level nipples. The higher the level the faster the flow. Level 4 is the fastest and is recommended for ages 9 months and up. Level 3 is for 6 to 9 months. Level 2 is for 4 to 6 months. And level 1 is for newborn to 3 months.

I really liked the playtex vent aire bottles I used, the only downside is that they have more parts than normal bottles, which is a pain when it comes to cleaning them. If price isn't the issue, the playtex nurser drop in system is awesome. I was going to use that system because I was breastfeeding and the playtex embrace double electric pump has a milk storage system that's really neat that goes with the nurser bottles. After I couldn't breastfeed, I decided to go with the vent aire because I couldn't afford the drop ins in the long run. The drop in system is nice because you can just toss out the used bag, and have just the nipple and ring to clean and sanitize then.
The nipples for both types of bottles have various flow styles. The slow flow nipples are on the smaller bottles, if you buy the starter set, otherwise you can buy the nipples separately.

I like dr. brown's and born free. Make sure you use the level one nipple for newborns. That will make the flow the slowest. usually when you buy a bottle, that's the nipple it comes with.
