Is This Email Legitimate?

I received an email from "Yahoomail" stating my account would be closed, if I didn't click on a link to verify my email. I think it is a hoax. Am I correct?

    If the account would be closed then it better stop.

    That is a way to hack your account so that you send the hacker username and password and he uses the same for bulk mail or hacking your and other accounts.
