Can life be likened to a game?

If a game consists of purposes, barriers, freedoms, and power of choice would that be how one could view life?

Yes, it absolutley can. I believe, if I remember correctly, that L Ron Hubbard also refers to life as a game in Scientology: The fundamentals of Thought. I really took a liking to that analogy as most people play with their lives as though it were a game.

That's a great reference. I can choose to play a game or not choose. I have freedoms and barriers to overcome to achieve goals so in that sense I have a game.

I don't wanna be an avatar and to call life a game is evil to me. its too serious.
