I get a lot of pike on crankbaits as well as spinner baits. A jig and a large gulp minnow work great. Quite often I get more pike than walleye while walleye fishing. This past summer I got 5 12 + pounders and well over a hundred from that point down. On shallow running shadraps.

You can catch pike with many kinds of pike lures. Most used pike fishing lures and musky lures are jerk baits, crankbaits, spoons, spinners, soft baits, jigs and flies. If you want to try pike fishing, I would recommend using a medium stiff spinning rod with top action and a strong spinning reel.

I like jigs and crank bait for pike, they seem to hit a little more regularly than the other pike baits I've used. I really like fishing for pike, but they aren't plentiful in the area that I live in. Good luck and watch for the teeth!

I fish mainly inland lakes and have had a lot of luck with crawler harnesses. I also use a Smithwick Rattlin Rogue and a Five of Diamonds. Good luck, pike are a lot of fun.
