Any ideas on why Yahoo Answers skipped their birthday celebration in December 2010?

Shouldn't Yahoo Answers' FIFTH year have warranted at least a bit of a blog?

They've done it every year previously.

Four / 2009: http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2009/12...

Three / 2008: http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2008/12...

Two and one are unavailable, as far as I know, because they were on the OLD 360 blog, but I know they were celebrated. So what happened in 2010? Did I miss the announcement? And the cake?

Maybe due to all their recent layoffs the people at Yahoo aren't as enthused as they used to be.

I have it from a reliable source they used to give out coffee cups when you get to Level 6 and they don't do that any more either. Guess they're not into celebrating as much as they used to.

If you missed the announcement and the cake, then I think we all did.

They may have stepped out for another party and just forgot to return to the Y A party, or it may still be coming up yet

As far as I know, they didn't post an announcement of their "birthday" at all. I look at the YA blog on a fairly regular basis (geeky, I know), and I didn't see any mention of it.

Too busy trying to make a profit instead of celebrating.

Most likely they had a fantastic set of plans.

Then selected staff to enact those plans, right before they laid them off. :-(

I think they're finally seeing the answers they're getting now, and they're like........wow.

That may have made them sad and enough to not post it, but it's just a guess.

I didn't read anything about it on our blogs either.

I have noticed that blogs are not all International, we don't get all of the US ones, and no doubt you don't get all of ours.
