LGA1155 motherboards - Windows XP?

Anyone out there happen to know if the new LGA1155 motherboards for Sandy Bridge CPUs come with reliable drivers for Windows XP? A friend has a Core 2 Duo system that needs upgrading, and the Q9550S is $350, so that makes no sense.

However, the computer in question is a Windows XP system. There's no option of moving to Windows 7 because it's running some legacy software designed for Windows NT, along with Microsoft Outlook 2000 which is incompatible with newer OS versions. And of course Outlook setup is his most important application, full of mail delivery sorting rules and a few thousand messages. He hates the interface changes on later versions of Outlook like 2003, so it's imperative the OS and applications remain intact.

Has anyone tried installing XP on the new Sandy Bridge hardware? Are XP motherboard drivers included with the current crop from Asus, Gigabyte, MSI etc?

Thanks!

Great question! I don't know! something to check out! It shouldn't make a difference cause I don't think the CPU or mother board would be OS specific...Just some drivers for certain equipment. I suppose you could use "backdated" drivers but I would assume you would get what you needed when you installed XP. If I'm not mistaken Windows 7 Pro and Ultima have the XP "emulator" that allows you to run XP and earlier programs you couldn't normally run in 7

Hmm. What you may do, is write down the serial key for XP, then you definitely can mount the ISO photograph, and decide to place in xp. If that doesn't artwork, burn the ISO to a cd/dvd and boot up residing homestead windows with it, and decide to create a partition indoors the xp menu, and set up xp to that partition. you will possibly be able to then in easy terms flow c:/ and be conscious all your documents. cheers.
