Does anyone know anything about the Landover Baptist Church?
After the flame-war that happened on their site a couple of days ago I've been wanting to know more about them. I've heard that they are one of the most extreme fundamentalist christian groups in the united states, making Islamic suicide bombers look like tree-hugging hippies. And I've heard that their group is satirical, meant to not to inflame but to entertain; and to mess with people.
I read through the long thread from yesterday or the day before concerning the meaning of the word "fap" and it made me weep for humanity. But then I heard that they're satirical. Does anyone know for sure?
I read up on Poe's Law and that makes so much sense. I now find myself applauding them for the sheer genius in their posts. They obviously had me, and many many others, fooled.

The guy who operates the website is a self-avowed Poe [named after Poe's Law. Look it up.]. However, the forums do contain some actual fundies, who thought that Landover represented their beliefs in a non-mocking way.

I looked up their website and at first was disgusted with the things they were saying, but after a little examination I have come to the conclusion that they are not for real, as in being a satirical site taking the mickey out of the fundies. I hope I'm right because nobody could genuinely be that nasty.

at the bottom of the 'about us' page, in a mouse over it says
"The Landover Baptist Church is a complete work of fiction. It is a satire/parody."

Hoax. Trying to be funny by poking fun at Liberty Baptist types. Only proves that not all Christians are baptized in lemon juice.
