What is the Car wash hose for?

There is a hose that lays on the front entrance right before you go in. Its attached to a box but don't think it had wires inside nor do I think water comes out.

Update:

Oh, ive seen those, but the problem is, its all Automated, no ones there to hear anything, lol. Plus the car was is modern with jet dryers. Wish i could post pics so you guys can see it.

It is most likely a signal line, like in older or smaller gas stations. The line is plugged at one end, and the other is connected to a pneumatic (air operated) bell.

This alerts the car wash operator that another car has arrived.
