Take the parts back and get a refund. That's not how it works with mechanics that have established businesses. THEY buys the parts and install them because (1) there is an implied warranty in their work and (2) they charge a mark-up on the price of the parts. If the guy down the street is not an established business, then you get what you pay for. The job you describe is 1.5 hours. At an established business that would be 1.5 X $75./hour = $113..
