What's up with my 97x fuel sensor?

My gas gauge keeps reading all different levels. I was told to purchase a Fuel System conditioner (additive) for the gas tank. Still the needle is all over the place. Vehicle has 50K miles on it, a 2006.

No additive will help, you have a faulty fuel sender which is located by the side of the fuel pump which means you have to remove the complete pump to repair it. Personally I do not think it's worth to repair, wait a bit longer when the pump becomes faulty and then change the whole unit. A new pump is around $500 to buy. The fuel pump is located inside the tank.
