Does this dragon statue have any particular significance?
I found it on the sidewalk in downtown San Francisco yesterday morning. It is about 2x2 inches and it's made out of a lightweight resin. I'm thinking it might have fell out of someone's pocket. I know dragons are very significant in the Chinese spiritual belief system but I'm wondering if this is supposed to be a trinket you carry around with you or place somewhere in your house...any help would be appreciated, pics are below:

From the photos it is similar to the Foo Dragon which is a hybrid of the Foo Dog and Dragon.
This style is more representative of the Yuan Dynasty from around 1279-1368 C.E.
Today's modern dragons and Foo Dogs tend to have more facial hair.
The one like you found is occasionally considered a luck dragon and said to attract great wealth and success for the owner.
I have seen similar large figures and statues in Chinese restaurants.
I am by no means well versed in the symbolics of dragons or their particular origin. I volunteer as a minister for the area US Military Pagan/Alternative Religion group and over the last couple years have had some members interested in the spiritual side of dragons and dragon (chaos) magic so I have done research in that direction and also picked up some other information along the way.
I can recommend that you take the figure to a couple of your local Chinese restaurants and ask them if they can possibly give you some information about this particular style.
If you have anyone you know or nearby that involves them self with Feng Shui this may also be someone to ask.
In general Chinese dragons are for luck, power, success, wealth, protection, security and different variations thereof.
Hope this was at least a little helpful.

chinese language dragon is an emblem of skill, sturdy good fortune and protection. in case you seem at feng shui products, chinese language dragon is often used for that objective. i've got faith human beings born in the year of dragon have very sturdy good fortune and that they consistently do greater useful than something of the persons.

it looks like a Chinese luck dragon, you should place it in your home by an entrance or window to draw the luck in.
