Most likely China who will just ignore them and continue building coal power plants at breakneck pace while we in America are taxed to death by a sought after carbon tax on already too expensive gas.
While it is important to try to have a less negative impact on our environment and use other forms of renewable energy it would be foolish to implement new taxes in the current economic situation. A carbon tax is only going to hurt main street which will have to tighten their belts further while the rich and powerful party it up with our money.

I read an interesting take on the whole China issue, Mr. Bunny. It's called the Two Suspect Scenario. So a crime is committed and two suspects are brought in for questioning. They are both in on the crime, and they are interrogated in two different rooms.
Scenario 1: One suspect turns on the other. The first suspect walks away a free man while the second gets life in prison.
Scenario 2: Both suspects crack under interrogation. Since there is no reason to cut a deal, both suspects get life in prison.
Scenario 3: Neither suspect cracks. Both are convicted on a lesser charge and sentenced to two years in prison.
Suspect #1 is the U.S. and Western Europe. Suspect #2 is China. Confessing in this context means agreeing to drastically reduce carbon emissions. If both "suspects" agree to this, they both feel some pain, but "life in prison" (global meltdown) is avoided. If only one "suspect" stays quiet, the second will destroy the economy of the first, and maybe feel some pain from climate change later on.
The question is, do you really think China will agree to drastic emission cuts rather than continue to grow as an economic power?

AGW is a scam to promote Global Socialism.
Hence the regulations are not needed in China.
But since the US is China's biggest market AND the regulations tend to undermine economies - China will suffer as inane regulations strip consumers of disposable income.

Didn't they have to virtually shut Beijing down before the olympics? I like when I hear ignorant liberals discussing how China is at the forefront of the environmental boom.

Its typical liberal wishful thinking throwing money at a problem or regulate more
and see if it sticks.
