Should we stop fighting climate change, since we will never win?
It is often said by people.
We can't win the war on drugs, so just legalize it.
Baccheus: California's elevation rises quickly as you move from the coast. They are not as threatened by sea level rise.

False analogy.
Drug use, by itself, only affects the (voluntary) users, and those dependent on them in some way. And our present laws do little to either reduce drug use, or protect innocent bystanders. If we, instead, instituted strong laws aimed at drug users whose actions can affect others (like driving while on drugs, or neglecting a child), offered drug treatment programs to those who want to quit, and tax and regulate (at least most) drugs like we do alcohol, we would be better off. We'd have fewer people in jail, less gang violence, and we'd have the tax revenue from drug sales. So the "war on drugs" is, in many ways, making things worse with little or no benefit.
Fighting climate change, however, involves:
1. Getting individuals and businesses to use energy more efficiently. Which means we need less energy overall, so that we can meet our energy needs with fewer resources.
2. Developing alternative energy sources. Which we need to do at some point anyways, since fossil fuel reserves will run out eventually, and it will also reduce or eliminate our dependence on some of the worst, most corrupt governments in the world.
3. Getting rid of coal power plants. Which tend to be detrimental to local air quality in any case.
4. Reducing or eliminating oil and coal mining. Mines and oil wells are not very environmentally friendly in the best of all possible cases, and oil that starts out in or is transported over oceans can spill and cause major disasters.
5. Reforestation. Which will also provide habitat for wildlife, help clean water sources, reduce particulate pollution, and give us a larger emergency timber reserve.
So, leaving aside other issues, there's at least 5 things we can do to fight global warming that we *should be doing anyways*. Even if it turns out that, somehow, AGW is a giant hoax or whatever.

Its not a war between two opposing factions or nations, its not about us vs them and there is no win or lose other than if we as humanity survive the onslaught of natural disasters and environmental condition we have so helped destroy and alter to the brink of extinction of many species of faunal and floral lifeforms including man himself
Climate change and global warming is the net effect of man's callous actions and the mindset that ignored the implication of his behaviour on the natural world.
Amidst so many indications and clear signs, man is still ignoring the warning signs to his own detriment.
WE can only survive this global warming and climate change crisis if we reduce our world population to a more sustainable number through a worldwide reduction of birth measures aimed at achieving a sustainable number through the intervening generations.
This makes logical sense the more you think about it

Isn't that a defeatist attitude?
When you find a cancer invading your body do you just wait out the end, or do you fight to the end? You can win. Cancer is not always a death sentence.
The war on drugs? A joke. How can you even think about winning a war on drugs when you do not even know who is crossing the border and how many? That is a joke from the onset. Taking the wrong approaches and fighting on the wrong fronts doesn't help the situation either.

Conservation is one thing but how can you fight climate change? What wiped out 99.99999% of the species that used to live on this planet... Climate Change that's what and its natural so unless you can summon the global warming god by perhaps sacrificing yourself in some way like jumping into a volcano there is no chance!
Just kidding about the volcano though don't try that :)

NO.
you sound like those people who said "should we just stop fighting slavery, since it's been happening for 300 years and we will never win?"
we need to at least try, to attempt to save our children.

We have never trieed to fight climate change. We just gave up. We will instead raise taxes to rebuild infrastructure to adapt.

It depends what you mean by your "question."
Should you "stop" beating your wife, if you never started.

Good point. Since Ma Earth has always warmed or cooled, even before (gasp!) evil man and his SUVs and industrial plants, it's simply silly to think we can change the climate.
Of course, the Global Leftists already know this - their goal is simply control of the world's energy output and thus, its people.
