1985 ford escort timing gear stuck on crank with bad keyway?.?
Our escort timing belt gear on the crank will not come off as the keyway has it jammed.Their are no holes in gear or any room to get a puller behind the gear,anyone out their had this experience and know how to get the timing belt gear off the crank?.Thankyou in advance if you can help us figure this out.

Drill two or three holes through the cam pulley and use threaded rod with nuts and washers along with a two or three jaw puller minus the jaws. This way U can turn the cam to a spot where there is clearance to put the rod with washers and nuts through the cam pulley and turn the cam to install the next rod ETC. U also probably will need to remove the valve cover to gain clearance behind the cam pulley. Hope this helps and good luck!

Can you heat it with a propane torch? That might loosen it but be careful
