Former cancer patients-Would you remove your radiation alignment tattoos?
I was in my oncologist's office for my annual check and she told me that there is a program at my hospital that will remove my cancer treatment tattoos for free. I am going on a cruise next fall and will probably be out in a bathing suit that will show three of my alignment tattoos.
One of them has become quite large (almost the size of a dime) as the ink has flowed out over the years. I can either incorporate this into another tattoo and then have some tattoo on my stomach or get it removed and have a red scar for a year or two. Or i can just leave them and consider them battle scars. There are 5 total 3 of which are visible in a two piece bathing suit. Has anyone else ever considered this?

I have tiny facial ones. The kids offered to pay to get them improved into real tattoos. I don't care but I would if they were as large as yours.
Check the timing for the removal to heal before your trip.

Mine are very tiny but I think if any were as large as yours I would probably incorporate them into another tattoo. Maybe the center of a cancer ribbon.

My tattoos don't really bother me although after my breast reconstruction I might change my mind. The one in my 'cleavage' looks like a dirty big blackhead. I know of someone who had the tattoo tattooed over to look like a mole. I would possibly consider that before having it removed at all.

God gave the knowledge to the researchers, doctors, nurses, radiation therapists, etc. So yes, we would KNOW of the miracle of medicine and God's place in that miracle. Are you asking leading questions for a reason or are you just an unhappy person.

No, not at all. You can't even see it. It's like a tiny dot in 3 places that look like I stabbed myself with a pen...if yours are noticeable than have them removed. Wow! They must have done a terrible job on yours! I am leaving my Battle scars.

Never considered it, but mine are tiny. They look more like a tiny blackhead.
The ony time I even think about mine are when I make a joke about it to one of my nieces or nephews is showing off their latest "art" work and I offer to flash my tatts as well!
With yours being more obvious it is probably worth thinking about.
