A ambulance company sent me a bill 4 months later, with no dates or information about the incident?
the bill was 900 dollars. I replied asking for all the billing information, as I could not call my insurance company with out this. They ignored my request, sent me to collections, magically DOUBLING THE BILL TO `1,800 DOLLARS, TWO WEEKS LATER. when a bill collector sent me a letter about this same bill. I replied to the collection agency with the ambulance bill for 900 dollars, a copy of my letter to the ambulance company asking for the dates and time, and then the amazing DOUBLING AMBULANCE BILL. that was the last I heard of it, can ambulance companies get away with cheating people this way? and what happened to the bill?

Some ambulance companies will charge you 1 flat rate and a separate rate for the mileage. Over the years I have seen as a former auto claim adjuster anywhere from $250 up to $1,000 for ambulances. There might have been some more, but cant remember.
But usually on the EMS bill, should show that they billed you for $900 for date of service of when you used them. This should coincide with a hospital bill of that same date.
So no, this does not make any sense and ambulance companies are awful on collecting and persistent. The problem is that this collection agency will most likely ignore and this will go on your credit report. And if your insurance is to pay, many times you may have up to 1 year and if over 1 year, they may deny paying anything.
You need to call up your insurance company and ask their advice on how to handle this. If they cant, you need to find out where you can file a complaint on this ambulance company for reasons that they fail to answer why the bill was doubled.

Some unscrupulous companies and people will try anything. They will "get away with it" only if you allow them to.
