Legalize drug use and create a society of zombies?

Legalized drug use would save Billions of dollars in enforcement costs, but would the drugged societies end up losing many more Billions of dollars due to living under the influence of drugs and the resulting loss of productivity?

If the government sold the drugs they would be able to pay more people more money.Drug monet goes to colembia and mexico. Why not keep irt here. Also it would be cheaper for the user. They would have more money to put into the economy. But there could be a way to limit use like rationing like only 2 grams a week on a government id card

hmm. well most drugs have severe long term and short term effects which cause lead to the government spending billion in health care and so on.

also most drugs can cause mental wellness problems, things like depression/social isolation ect will probably lead to high unemployment, high number of school/college drop outs which will affect the economy quite badly.

also drugs will lead to high criminal activity, this too will have a very bad impact on the economy since huge amounts have to be spent on that.

it is better for the government to spend on preventing drugs/raising awareness on the effects on drugs to the younger generation to help prevent an economical problems and the wreck of many people's lives

fake premise. how many people do you fairly think of do no longer do drugs purely because of the fact they are unlawful? to no longer point out, how plenty loss of productiveness we already have because of the use (and abuse) of *criminal* prescription drugs, and of path - alcohol. *hundreds* of billions get thrown into the 'conflict on drugs' money pit each and every 12 months - and function completed no longer something to stem the pass of medicine into the U. S.. as a replace, they have equipped up great drug cartels - with any seizures that they do make purely expanding the line cost by way of limited furnish. Legalization of all drugs around the board could see the cost drop in one day - the cartels could dry up (or shift their concentration lower back to human trafficking). alter and tax the sh** out of the stuff, and spend a tiny fraction of the 'conflict on drugs' money to assisting rehabilitate people who decide to get sparkling. significant word - purely because of the fact drugs could be 'criminal' does no longer advise that an company could no longer drug try you - they are paying you cash to do a activity, and if any habit/habit (no remember if drug appropriate, alcohol, cyber web/facebook/porn, etc) is struggling with you from appearing to their expectancies (or assembly safety standards), you may nonetheless be out on your azz quickly. On perfect of that - freeing each and all the 1st-time non-violent drug offenders from detention center (and getting them out of the criminal gadget could resolve the detention center overcrowding concern and the backlog of lawsuits. it is problematic nevertheless - because of the fact it is going to on no account happen. a minimum of no longer any time quickly. Too many wallet are being padded with bribes and payoffs - in any respect stages of government ,the two community and federal. those people have a vested interest in protecting drugs unlawful, expenses intense, and money flowing into their coffers. I submit to in recommendations my Dad (a staunch spectacular-wing conservative) saying this because of the fact the early 80's. it's time to wake the f**ok up, and understand that the 'conflict on drugs' is a depressing failure.
