How can i become a top contributor?

yes it is possible, It just has to do with answering alot of questions in the same category, not your best answer percentage. I wondered that too for a long time...that's what I came up with. Are you answering questions in many different categories?

Hey, if you know about a certain category then stick with that. I mean the whole purpose is to help people out with good answers, so answer what you know no matter which category it is in. That's more important than working to get a top contributor title... you will get it eventually!

It probably is a percentage of you answers, like 50 percent or more of your answers are in a categoryory, or something similar to that. Or it could just be once you have answered a certain amount of questions in ocategoryory... I'm just not sure how it works I just noticed that thing about the best answer percentages, like you mentioned before. I had a higher percent of answers than some people, but didn't have the top cont. thingy, then one day it just popped up. And I have seen people with very high best answer percentages, with no top cont. things. Maybe it's a combination of them both...

It's really no big deal. Yahoo has a secret complicated formula involving percentages and best answers to arrive at how someone receives the designation. One day you log in and surprise you are a TC. The best way to earn it is to concentrate on answering in up to three categories where you might have some knowledge. if you don't keep your percentage up you can lose the designation. There is absolutely no benefit in becoming a TC. In reality it can be a detriment because some trolls will target you for violations so you have to be extra careful with everything you post.

Yahoo keeps the exact formula they use to determine who gets a TC badge top secret, so know one knows for sure what, exactly, it takes. But based on people's best guesses: You need to pick a category you'd like to be top contributor in, and focus on answering questions in that category. Of your answers, a minimum percentage needs to be chosen as best answer. (approx. 50 answers, with about 10-12% being chosen as best answer.)

You can be a top contributor in up to 3 categories at a time, and the badge is handed out weekly, on Monday mornings.

i think of it has something to do with the form of questions you answer in a undeniable type. in line with risk, as an occasion, you may answer one hundred+ questions in computers and information superhighway after which you're presented incredible Contributor.

Answer questions, to start.. and then leave them in the all mighty hands of the users and yes you will have the answer.
