You might be thinking Aerosmith's "Livin' On The Edge" as it was Joe Perry playing the guitar in front of a train.

Sorry guys but it was Slash and the video was November Rain. That scene was cut and replaced with concert footage after a kid tried to mimic it and got hit by a train. Joe Perry mimicked it.
