aquired date for stock?
I inherited verizon stock in 2008, july 2, verizon spun off frontier and I recieved some shares. I sold the shares 12/8.
Do I put down my 2008 date aquired for the frontier shares, or use the July 2 2010 date?

the original shares would be long term and the spin off, short

For the inherited stock you would enter INHERIT as the date that you acquired the stock and this will be a long term capital gain on the schedule D section II held more than one year.
