Does anyone know of any Australian/New Zealand films or tv shows...?

That are based on/in schools or where a teacher plays a significant role in the film?

'Seven Periods With Mr Gormsby' is a New Zealand TV series starring Mr Gormsby, a very politically incorrect 'old school' teacher in a NZ high school. Very funny though probably not particularly realistic. Two series have been made so far.

Home and Away and Neighbours are the biggest two soap dramas directed at young people.

Home and Away is set in fictional small town of Summer Bay and includes young people attending school with several teachers often involved in the storylines.

Neighbours is based around a fictional street called Ramsey St where the young people of the street all go to high school.

Other than that, there isn't any more TV shows to speak of that are on air at the moment. Movies in Australia hardly ever focus on schools but I did watch Pinic At Hanging Rock for the first time ever the other day and found it a fascinating reflection of 'old' society in Australia.
