I live 90 minutes form the Mexican Border in So Cal and frequently make the drive to get authentic Mexican food, including Tacos. Taco Bell would be laughed out of Mexico. They are about as non authentic as it gets.

Wait a minute...........you were in Mexico..............for 3 weeks. and are disappointed you didn't see an American fast food chain that sell a dumbed down version of what actually isn't Mexican at all. You could have walked to any sidewalk taco stand and gotten authentic food that kicks TB's butt for about 15 cents a taco, and about a dollar for a heaping plate of food.

A Taco Bell in Mexico would have a name that translates to "Toilet Paper Store"

Probably because the Taco Bell food and must of the so called Mexican food in the USA is an American invention or, most dishes have been Americanized. The tacos in Mexico are no where near in taste to those eaten here in the US. So you should have tasted the ones in Mex City, probably would have liked them, or not.

There used to be Taco Bells in Mexico but they were rather quickly out of business. Now they are opening some in Mexico but are advertising it as American food lol.

Taco Bell isn't authentic. Its American made. Why would you go to Mexico and not get the authentic tacos that are made fresh from scratch when you order.

Taco Bell is rubbish and is a bastardised version of Mexican food.

Its obvious. They dont want to compete with the original tacos.
