why isn't Bill Russell looked at as the greatest player ever?

let me start off by saying i wasn't around when he played.. i am not familiar with his career and i don't know much about him. but what i do know.. is that he is a hall of famer who has won ELEVEN nba championships. he has the finals trophy named after him if im not mistaken.

i mean, people always say Michael Jordan is the best with his 6 championships.. and say Kobe is trying to get that many to be considered best of all time. but why doesn't russell's 11 mean anything? he is hardly ever talked about.

He was the greatest winner ever.

As far a skill goes, he was not much of an offensive player. He was a savage on defense but was an average offensive player.

So to me, he's the greatest winner ever.

    Bill Russell: 5 MVP's and 11 rings in 13 years >>> Michael Jordan: 5 MVP's and 6 rings in 15 years.

Most skilled player is NOT EQUAL to the greatest player of all time. You may have best moves in the game but if you don't know WHEN and WHERE to use your skills, its useless.

The winningest FRANCHISE players (repeat, NOT role players) is EQUAL to the greatest player ever. Bill Russell is the winningest franchise player of all time.

10 PLAYERS CAN BE ARGUED FOR GOAT..BUT, RUSSELL HAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE GOAT FOR MY OPINION..DESPITE THE ERA!!!!!!!

HE ALSO WON..SERVING AS PLAYER AND COACH 2 OUT OF 3 YEARS.
