What can I do to loosen tight calf muscles?
My entire leg is really tight, but the pain is mostly concentrated on my inner calfs, or scolus. I throw shot put, and as our warm ups we run a mile and a half, but I don't feel like thats enough to really cause this much pain.
I stretch and roll out before practice, roll out during, and stretch roll out and sometimes get an ice bath/whirlpool afterwards. The trainers told me to roll out and stretch, but its been about a month with no progress. I've been doing some things with LAX balls to target specific areas that hurt and they seem to help for a short while, but then the pain returns no matter how long I do the exercises for.
Trainers have told me that my muscles are tight enough that they are messing with bone placement and causing my knees and ankles to disalign slightly. Is there anything anyone can think of that I can try to do or fix to make them better?
