Update:

Does it impact the film industry? Do they lose money from it or does it help spread the popularity of some lesser known movies through word of mouth.

    Here are the pros:

    • Lower prices

    • Some movies and TV shows can ONLY be obtained through bootlegs; authorized releases don't exist

    Now the cons.

Bootleg DVDs of movies or TV episodes are more likely to have:

    • TV station logos obstructing the picture

    • Missing footage

    • Inferior picture quality

    • Inferior sound quality

    • Those who sell bootlegs are unlikely to stand behind their product with refunds or exchanges, so if you get a bad disc that doesn't play at all, you're just out of luck.

    • It's unfair that honest people who are trying to sell authorized studio releases have to compete with bootleggers.

    • If you sell bootlegs, you could be sued or even go to prison

    Final score:

    Pros: 2

    Cons: 7

If you are a true movie fan..nothing but the best is good enough..

Pirated means so totally..gross and stupid..there may even be missing parts..

There is not one sigle movie that can compare in quality to a Studio made DVD.
