How to become CEO of a Hospital?

Could you still be a practicing physician as well if you obtain your MD and residency training?

Update:

Nonono! I meant can you take MD/MBA program, and start your way up from physician through administrative jobs till you reach the top of the administrative pyramid?

Hospital CEO is a full time job. It would not be possible to practice medicine at the same time.

Many CEOs are business people with healthcare administration degree.

CEOs are not physicians; they are people with advance degrees in health care management and years of experience in health care administration & health care finances. Physicians can become Chief of Staff, but that usually falls to a senior, well experienced MD and there is only 1 per hospital, and they can hold that for years.
