What is the name of the aircraft used by TOM CRUISE in the movie TOP GUN?

Where was the aircraft manufactured? What were the model numbers for this airplane? It had twin engines under the belly, a pilot, and a co-pilot. The TOP GUN dialog mentioned "F-14" only one time.

The F-14A manufactured by the Grumman Aircraft company was the AC used in the movie Top Gun. There is no co-pilot since no variation of the F-14 had dual controls. The second person was the Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), and had control of the weapons systems. A total of 712 F-14 aircraft were built at Grumman's plant in Calverton on Long Island, NY.
