Landscaping questions - flower bed removal?
I'm looking to remove the flower beds which are along the back of my house. They were poorly done by the previous owner, and we'd rather just have the flowers in the front where they'll be seen.
Currently, the beds are a mixture of mulch and soil with plastic beneath them, set down slightly below the level of the yard (an inch or so). We'd like to remove these and have the area look like the rest of the yard.
What is the proper way to do this? Just rip it out, and purchase turf to replace it? Or is there a better (or cheaper) way to deal with it?

I'd pull the plastic and mix in some topsoil to bring it to grade.

The panorama fabric might jam up a tillers tines. ideally the fabric would desire to be bumped off, yet that is to a lot of an project. you may merely build raised beds with panorama timbers or comparable fabric. upload sparkling topsoil with some organic and organic fabric which includes Black Cow manure. Use a pre-emergent which includes Preen, or Preen and eco-friendly which has fertilizer extra. this might preclude any weed seed interior the soil from germinating. The stone grow to be probable used for ornamental applications. It would not carry water, and is probable to skinny a layer to do something for drainage. the acceptable answer to help drainage in clay is Gypsum. It is presented in a powdered form, and chemically alters the clay so the clay debris do not stick jointly. this can provide you extra airspace, and hence extra advantageous drainage. in case you bypass with a raised mattress, or merely upload topsoil, placed the gypsum down first. Water will carry it into the clay.
