His district can be won by a Republican. It's going to be split in the next election after redistricting and likely to be packaged with a more Conservative area.

His district can right now be won by Republicans in the right circumstances. The Republicans would have to rack up heavy margins in the Brooklyn portion and Dems would have to under-perform in the Queens portion. The chances of a takeover then goes to zero if a Jewish Democrat is nominated. Anthony Weiner and Charles Schumer who represented the 9th before Weiner over-performs the Democratic presidential nominee usually 10 percentage points in the in the 9th because they are Jewish Democrats.

They wanted him out to protect incumbents from ads in the next election.

Source(s): Orthodox Jews vote heavily Democratic on the local and state level. They vote Republican in the presidential elections, but will vote for a Jewish Democrat to send to Congress such as Anthony Weiner who is pro Israel. A democratic nominee normally gets 55 to 56 percent of the vote in the district. Anthony Weiner usually gets 65 to 70 percent in most years except last year when he got 59 percent.

you will desire to be a Liberal on the grounds which you think of Republicans are like Democrats in that they take excitement in mocking others whilst no longer first attacked in a single of those vogue. maximum Republicans prefer to no longer do issues this way. maximum mocking of Weiner is purely achieved as one enormous sarcastic reaction to commonplace Liberal politics against Conservatives. interior the top Republicans do no longer likely care if he steps down or no longer-they only care that if Conservatives catch hell, they understand the media is going to aim to conceal whilst Liberals do incorrect so as that they step in and do the media's activity.

Yes, unless a switch would trigger a change in the majority - and in that case, either Democrat or republican would protect that seat at any cost.

He is a distraction, because the Republicans will keep bringing him up ad nauseum. They would rather lose that one seat than to help him interfere with governing America.
