    "When i saw you for the first time" è la forma corretta.

    In inglese si usa il present perfect (il secondo esempio) solo quando l'azione è appena terminata da pochissimo tempo e quindi non come in italiano dove ad esempio non dici ieri mangiai una mela ma ieri HO MANGIATO una mela.
