Does anyone else on here get tired of the fake profilers using Yahoo Answers to simply flog their company?
They set up a profile just to ask a question about their company, then another profile will answer the question with glowing recommendations or providing company information.
Personally I find it annoying and insulting. What are your thoughts about this?

Those spam questions and answers are annoying. Quite a few of the companies linked to are Chinese who offer low quality fakes of brand name products which not only causes problems for individual users, but also hurts the economy in other countries. Some spammers are on an affiliate program and get some measly pennies for every spam post, some are spambots. There are loan scammers, home remedy spammers, call girl spammers - it has gotten so bad that with the approval of YA an official spam battle thread was opened on the suggestion board where quite a few users co-ordinate their efforts in fighting back. Apparently our efforts are effective - last week alone 11,000 spam accounts have been identified and deleted! If interested, take a look and join the fight if you like:

It is annoying and it will not stop. Users like this I tend think are not real individuals. If you are talking about users that simply post spam (i.e. links that don't work) in an answer then those are probably what some call "bots". Bots are not real individuals but they are programs designed with the purpose of advertising a company on Q/A sites. The bots post spam with the intent of getting traffic to sites by providing links. But even if they are bots or real people, they are annoyances. I can't stand it because the persons (if they are real) are taking up space that could be used for legitimate users who actually want to answer the questions. I have been on this site long enough to know that users like those are not only annoyances, but they are bad at what they do. If they are real individuals, they could at least advertise in such a way where users want to click on the link. But spammers are so bad at what they do, they annoy users. Anytime I see a spammer, I report and the content is removed. I urge anyone else to do the same.

totally annoying.. its the same cheap technique used by most viagra and drugs company websites that blogging fake things about their products and then there'll be a few comments praising their products..
actually, the most annoying things for me in yahoo answer is the kind of people who downing other people answer by voting down it even the answer was picked as the best answer.. i hate those people who used the tactics just to get 10points unfairly.. sometimes u can see it when there is about 12 different answer in a time and 11 of it was voted down.. obviously its not done by the questioner, when there are no answer picked yet .. =)
