I couldnt agree more. I have nothing against OSDT, it is a good idea. It is in no way Mayweathers idea though and the way he went about it was all wrong.As you say this should be requested of the authorities and if they do KO the request then the public is aware this is down to the regulators rather than a particular boxer and they can vent their anger at the authorities until they bow to public demand.

Andre Ward has recently said he would like it in his fight with Carl Froch, he has said however that if Froch doesnt want it then he will not try and force Froch although he will still submit himself to testing to show he is clean.This is a more diplomatic way of doing it,fact is if he does it Froch pretty much has to anyway or it will look suspicious. The thing is though I believe Wards intentions are perhaps to help clean up boxing. Floyd on the other hand I think did it first and foremost to impose his will on his opponent and gain an advantage.I also think Ward has done it in such a way he is seen to be helping clean up the sport, Floyd wants it to look like he singlehandedly cleaned up the sport which is not the case.

I cant agree more though, in life if you suspect a crime you go to the police,not the newspapers for instance. Rather than Mayweather go to the authorities he went to the media. If Floyd is serious in cleaning up the sport, the right people he needs to confer is the commission. That way he will be able to save other fighters from the danger of being cheated. What he did is he only want to to save his own coward azz.

Drug tests have also been made part of the condition in some fights involving Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield for example. Certain matters that could assure that the playing field is level or allay the apprehensions of one party or the other could be negotiated outside of the commission. It has been done before so why invoke the commission on matter such as the OSDT when anything that would ensure the integrity of any sports competition should be welcome not only by the commission but the sports fans in general?
