Moving xbox 360 to different house, will xbox live work?

It surely will work with any internet connection, regardless if it's wired or wireless. You just have to bring your console and its hard drive so you can play your saved / downloaded games at your dad's house.

Another thing, if you can't host games then that has something to do with the NAT status. To know the status, just run Xbox Live Connection Test then check if NAT below would either say Open, Moderate or Strict. If its Moderate or Strict then you have to call your router manufacturer to turn on the UPnP. If it's still the same then you have to trigger some ports on your router (list of ports can be obtained from 1 - 800 - 4 My Xbox). After that, hosting games should never be problem.

wireless is very good if you have all 5 bars with your connection,and you will not see a difference between wired or wireless but 4 bars or lower you need to be wired.i have always a full or 3/4 connection with black ops,and sometimes i'm the host.

Haha. It will work on any internet as long as you have the same harddrive and console combination. As long as you just move the whole thing it will be fine. Your friend meant that he's an idiot and broke his but doesn't know how so he blames Live.

personally i hate wireless,,,, it'll work but the connection will be a lot worse. something like wired connections are 3x as better as wireless..... I play halo, specifically halo 3 and its so much of a disadvantage, i get Pissed every time i play it. but,,, thats because I am a level 50 and also play level 50s
