Poll: Dan Peek Co-founder of America dead at 60. Your thoughts?

I got to see the original group on tour in the mid-90's. Sensational.

Sad news indeed, far far too young. America was never the same after Dan left. When, I think back to the early to mid seventies as a young teen, "Horse With No Name", "Sister Golden Hair" and "Ventura Highway' were big favorites of mine. Great that you were able to see the original lineup.

I would have liked to have seen America in concert but never did. I never knew any of the individual names of the people in the group, but as a group they had a really good sound. Of course, A Horse With No Name was probably their biggest hit but my personal favorites were...Sister Golden Hair, Lonely People, Tin Man, I Need You. May Dan Peek rest in peace.

That is really sad cause America was one of my favorite groups of all time and Dan Peek's death is a major loss to the music world

Now I have the song "Lonely People" stuck in my head

Great group....great music...and the music's not all that hard to play....but they made it sound sensational. 60 is way too young these days.

when you said "founder of America..." I thought of the Founding Fathers of the USA...anyways...

Takes me back to better days. Always loved "Horse With No Name," so surreal and haunting. And this one that speaks to us all.
