How long is bacon safe?

I just remembered I had a pack of bacon in the meat drawer of the refrigerator. I thought about putting a little tiny bit in my chicken fajita soup, but the date says "Best by 06/19/11." It's been opened, but I only used two pieces of it and it's been firmly sealed up in an airtight freezer bag and has been in the coldest part of the drawer.

Will it make us sick or is it still safe?

Update:

Aw crap. I just looked at the bacon closer and it's got mold on it. Dammit. Thanks anyway guys.

Julie, most bacon is processed, like cured and smoked, if it's been in a sealed packet, your good to go.

you could't bypass away it at room temperature. If the beef is vac packed (wrapped in plastic protecting with air bumped off) then stick it interior the freezer, the packaging will sidestep freezer burn so the beef would be proper once you're taking it out of the freezer. placed it interior the refrigerator in case you do no longer desire to freeze it yet do no longer bypass away it at room temperature once you're making plans on eating it. even nonetheless the beef packaging is sealed it nevertheless desires refrigeration temps to sidestep spoilage.
