When you are old, you are wise, right? Old age comes at a very inconvenient time.?

It always seems to be interrupted by death. Is it possible to become old and wise in your 20's?

Actually age is the effect of wisdom. Stupid people die young. So the answer is yes. How old are you now Mac? I am 60 now. I consider, myself extremely, in my choices , and circumstances, this far.

    Source(s): Life experience
  • Physical age is not the definitive precursor of wisdom. Spiritual and emotional age are. Anyone at any point in their physical development can develop spiritual and emotional wisdom. The age of the body does not determine the age of the mind. What we are is a result of what we experience. For those who have experienced repeated trauma or hardship and suffering beyond the normal measure, they have a choice.. to become old and wise before their time, in order to survive, or take the path of self destruction.

Wisdom can come from the minds of children, just as easily as from the minds of elders. It all depends on how they have learned to cope with what life has dealt them. Some people experience more in a short time than others do in an entire lifetime.

Hello Mad Mac, old age, of course, is identified with the decay of the functioning of the organs of the nervous system. If we know the tech of maintaining the youth of the organs then ageing is not at all a problem. Wisdom comes only because of the experiences which we get during living time. If one is capable of involving himself in so many constructive activities then he will come to know about the various probabilities and so he would become wise. So becoming wise could be possible even at 20's. But the probability is low because of so many limitations. If one, right from his birth, is brought up in such a way to keep his nervous system so healthy by all means and the mind so powerful to bring out maximum of its hidden potentiality, then definitely he would be wise enough to love any one and do favour to all beings. Let us be optimistic that such a situation would come soon as a reality. (Though I have love feeling, because of poor language skill I could not express myself to cent percent)

Some people make it to 70 and still have no clue. The assumption that age equates to wisdom is fallacious. Some however, do become wise. Regretfully, the human brain's ability to change atrophies. So you end up with old fossils with ancient ideas that are out of touch with the modern world. Ted Kennedy started out as merely a incompetent secretary killer and became a fossilized salute to liberalistic intransigence. Not wise at all.

No, age is not an indication of wisdom...

yes, one can be old and wise in their 20's and even in their teens...

Life experience and the way one handles such experiences can give one much wisdom...

You speak of being interrupted by Death...

If you were just 14, could you forgive your father if you witnessed him beat your mother to death?

This experience ages the child and the ability to forgive is a wisdom this child has which many an adult has the inability to do.

No! Old age is not a true reflection of wisdom. Old age does however allow you to experience life longer, but does not guarantee wisdom.

Yes it is possible to be wise in your 20's. I however have never come across a person in their 20's with what I would consider wisdom.

I'm pretty sure I'm in no place to say this, because I look like a toddler, but being "wise" doesn't come into play by time or age. It depends on the experiences you've had, and how you've dealt with them. So, to answer your question, I'd say absolutely. Younger, even. You just need to broaden your mind.

'Flourit' in English means age of dawning of

wisdom, it also means age of 40. (You will not find

this entry in one volume dictionaries, try multi-volume

dictionaries in a good library). Thoughts like

'marrying yourself' 'concious about age', 'perspectives

of life', 'journey to self' or 'deep inside' are

philosophical in nature which have no meaning for youngsters.

The general expression "Life does not begin until 40."

History knows that major inventions or

innovations in science were made by people

after the age of 24, and major achievement in

philosophy, history or literature after the

    age of 40.
