You can use the Illini Shuttle. $19.95 one way. Get on at O'Hare and it will take you all the way to the U of I at Altgeld Hall and the Armory. No transfers or anything.

Yes go to Union Station from ORD on the CTA blue line train. Exit at Clinton go up the stairs and walk 1 1/2 blocks to Union Station. There are 3 AMTRAK trains and 2 MEGABUS buses daily to Champaign/Urbana. The morning and afternoon trains cost $14 and take 130 min while the late evening one is $34 and takes 150 min:

The cheapest ticket ($11) is on a Megabus which departs from across the street from the station. Both the late morning and evening buses are on the road 150 min:

That same CTA blue line train can get you to a Greyhound bus. If you exit the train at the Cumberland Stop there are 2 afternoon buses that take over 4 hrs and cost $20...advanced purchase:

Greyhound Express also matches the MEGABUS ticket but you'll have to take the CTA blue line to Clinton and walk the other direction (south) to the Greyhound Depot. There are 5 daily direct rides that take about 150 or 160 min:

There is no "Champlain" in Illinois.
You must be looking for one of the following universities:
- University of Chicago in Chicago
- University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC)
- University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC)
Please re-post your question with the correct institution.
Now that you clarified your question, you have three choices:
1. Take a plane from O'Hare to Willard Airport in Champaign.
2. Drive to UIUC (about 2 - 2.5 hours' drive)
3. Take the CTA Blue Line to The Clinton Street station, walk two blocks north to Union Station, and take an Amtrak train to CHAMPAIGN, Illinois. (Normal IL is a completely different city, 50+ miles northwest of UIUC.) You can take a bus or taxi from the Champaign Amtrak station: it's about 1.5 miles southeast of the station. There are at least three daily trains that go each way between Chicago and Champaign.
