I have one old car that has no modern electronics - no transistors not even a diode I think it will still work.

Yes. I know. And it's also a possible terrorist target - the power grid. It would be catastrophic. Can you imagine? Start with the most basic electrical need - the bloody stop lights, they won't work. Utter and complete chaos. The people can't get their money out of an ATM or buy food or pump gas. Or heaven forbid, use their cell phones/devices. No one is prepared for that. Most don't even give it a thought.
