Why does the cord of my desk phone get all twisted?

Every few days, I have to detach the handset and work the kinks out by letting it hang loose and spin. It's crazy -- it's not like I sit at my desk turning circles or rotate my phone when I'm talking on it. How does it get so twisted?

Because in the process of answering and hanging up the phone you twist the cord. I have never seen a receive cord that did not get twisted and then tangled.

hold the machine up letting the receiver dangle and return to its un tangled state.O when its in itsgood state ,make it a habit picking up the phone in only one direction[facing you] everytime

just get yourself a cord detangler http://www.google.com/products/catalog?rlz=1C1DVCC...

you can usually pick these up at radio shack, or other electronic stores for a couple of bucks... you might even get lucky in the 99 cent store

If it's already a coiled up style of cord then it rolls up each time you pick it up and put it down.

Wires have an annoying habit of doing that.
