Can we Blame Britain for the neverending crisis in the middle east?

The British took almost 80% of palestine and gave it independence in 1946 and renamed it Jordan.

They immediately seized all Jewish property and began ethnically cleansing the palestinian Jews from the 80% of palestine that was now called Jordan and pushing them in to the remaining 20% of palestine. (In part this is important because even though "palestine in 1948" was only 20% of the size of "palestine in 1947," people treat statistics on "palestine" as if it is the same size.)

The remaining 20% of palestine that was not indepedent yet now had the palestinian Arabs that had lived in that 20% + all the Jews that had lived in 100% of palestine squished in to it.

They could have Taken the Atacama desert away from Chile* and made that the Jewish homeland. They could pump water out of the pacific, de-salinate it, and used it to iregate farms.

After moving the Jews of Palistine there, they could have made Palistine a Muslim colony.

*they stole it from Bolivia

We could, but it wouldn't do any good.

You give an awful lot of credit to the British for the Zionist effort over a half century to create a Jewish homeland, which required defeating the British occupiers.

Personally, I think it's bad enough that people are going back 50 or 100 years and making up or exaggerating historical facts in order to blame one side or the other. Peace will come when the current generations of Palestinians and Israelis leave the past behind and treat each other with respect in the present.

Practically every former colony of Britain's with the exception of the United States simply because it was primarily populated by Britons, was better off under Britain's rule than left to it's own devices.

  • Britain is still a big fish ,and always will be.

I'm sorry we did make a big mistake in 1948.

Britain is just a small fish.

The larger fish is the US. Responsible for the insecurity of world and people losing freedom because of US policies.

Muslims were violent psychopaths long before the British were capable of even controlling their own island.
