Why wouldn't you call your auto insurance company when you have collision and comprehensive coverage?

My impression is that they're worried about their policy rates going up, or maybe they don't have auto insurance? But why not take advantage of your auto insurance whether you end up pursuing the claim or not?

People that have insurance and do not use it are simply FOOLS !

These fools worry about a possible rate increase so much that they seem to lose all logic and common sense. I imagine the insurance companies love these people because they keep paying their premiums but never file a claim

Policy rates do not go up one penny for a comprehensive or a glass coverage claim. Comprehensive claims are not connected to automobile accidents. Insurance rates don't go up for any automobile accident that's not the policy holders fault.

Anyone who fails to use their automobile insurance in accident cases is at rick for a unjustified claim by another person.

If people fail to use their comprehensive for a non-accident claim are lining the pockets of the insurance company. Comprehensive claims such as a tree falling on your car, hail damage, fire, theft, flood and ice to name a few.

I have to agree that it's just silly the way people worry so much about a rate increase that they don't want to involve insurance. Most of these people end up getting screwed and THEN run to their insurance companies expecting them to work miracles to fix the mess they made.

I work for a claims department, and have had multitudes of people that insist on knowing if their rates will increase before filing the claim. Of course we can't tell them, because we don't know yet.
