how do you take a screenshot picture on the computer?

I want the computer to take a screen shot of what im currently seeing on my screen and save it as a high resolution picture. I have a windows seven laptop. Thanks

    On your keyboard will be a key that says "prtScn" on it. Press this key and it will copy the current screen into the clipboard. Same as if you highlighted something and did a Crtl+C.

    Then you open your favorite graphic editor (such as the MS Paint program included in Windows 7) and do a "Paste" The screen shot will appear as new picture for you. You can then use the program to crop, resize, or do any other editing you want before you save it.

    I prefer to use my snipping tool on Vista. Win7 has one also. Don't think the basic starter packages do though in OS's.

    With the snipping tool you will have to upload to Photobucket or a similar site then copy the url and post in a forum type setting for it to display.

    Win7 has an excellent utility for this called the "Snipping" tool.

    Look under Accessories or use the search feature.

    2 buttons from F12 there is a button that says Prt Scr click that then go to microsoft word and paste it there and a screen shot should appear :)
