Do you think we would be better of with a WU (world union) or to stay as individual nations?

It seems to me that the EU, the economical and political help each member brings, is a great thing. I do not like it because of the fact that sooner or later the original countries will eventually disappear as borders are united and the languages and cultures combine. However, it may be possible that with a WU every country could benefit from one another and still remain an individual culture with its own ways and language. It can be a way of stopping wars. if it ever happens, it will take a while because of all the differences we currently face with other nations, but I think it can be done. What do you think?
