Depends on whether you have exchanged proper emails over a fairly long period of time, or photographs etc. which sex, what vibes you get etc. How about suggesting a meeting half way if the person drives? I'd go by gut instinct but be on my guard.

Yeah, I love driving, mind you 300 miles in NZ covers a lot of ground, it is just enough to get to the current whereabouts of my nearest contact.
The other one is over 600 miles away.

I did once! Seattle to San Francisco. But she's an incredibly special person ( NO - no romance - just a great person). It was worth it but I think only you can judge whether you have enough of a bond to go see that person.

Yeah, if I felt some sort of connection with said person. But then, I like to drive, am always ready to hit the road. Also, I'm pretty wily and can anticipate impending doom.

it would really depend on the contact and if you really can trust him or her to be really worth the effort of your time and trouble - because you have been burned once before, make sure you won't have to go through that again
trust your instincts and feelings about this matter
