Hypothyroidism Question?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about 5 days ago, and I 'm wondering about weight loss on the meds. I know that they aren't a weight loss pill and that lots of hypo people have trouble losing weight. What I'm curious about is whether or not I will go back to the weight I was (150 lbs) before I started having symptoms. That would be about a 70 pound weight loss so I don't expect it all to fall off without any work, but I am hoping that I will start moving in that direction because that is what my body used to rest at with no work at all.

Unfortunately when our bodies build up fat cells, they do not go away. You may never be able to lose all of the extra but I pray that you will (& me too).

    Here is some info:

TSH ‘norm’ should be .3 – 3 (w/ most feeling best at < 2) but, for diagnosis, would not matter if ANTIBODIES are present. Indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis (cycles between hyper & hypo at start)…main cause of HypOthyroid & is worse (...OR Graves Disease - HypERthyroid).

WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find/treat thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes.
